Preachers Bread Pudding Recipe

Hi Everyone.

I have a awesome new dessert recipe for you, I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband that loves to cook and today he made a Bread Pudding that was just so yummy...and we call it Preachers Bread Pudding because my husband is a Pastor!!

My hubby Jehromie couldn't decide on a recipe so he made his own and it was amazing me and Kylie were in heaven and you will be too!

Preacher’s Bread Pudding

Pudding Ingredients:
·        6/8 Slices of Toast Bread (I like Bimbo brand toasted bread)
·        4 Regular Hamburger Buns (I get the cheapest store buns)  
·        Raisins (to taste – at least ½ cup)
·        1 stick butter (blue bonnet)
·        1 can Evaporated Milk
·        6 Large Eggs
·        1 Tsp Cinnamon
·        1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
·        ¾ Cup Sugar (white)
·        ½ Cup of Milk (whole milk)

Vanilla Drizzle Icing Ingredients:
  • 1 ½ Cup Confectioners Sugar (Powdered Sugar)
  • 3 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/8 Tsp of Salt
  • ½ Tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon melted butter

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8x8 2” deep casserole dish. Fill casserole dish with broken pieces of toast. Generously sprinkle raisins over toast. Finish filling dish with 4 well torn/broken up hamburger buns. Melt 1 stick of butter and drizzle over torn bread.

In mixer combine Eggs, Sugar, Cinnamon, Evaporated Milk, Whole Milk, & Vanilla Extract - mix well (about 2-3 minutes). – Pour mixture over bread completely filling casserole dish. Gently push bread down to ensure it’s all covered with mixture. Let sit a few minutes (you want the bread to soak up the mixture).

Bake for 45-60 minutes (Ovens vary). You’re looking for the top to start to brown and a toothpick inserted should come out clean (the consistency of a cake). If you don’t have a toothpick gently push down if you see liquid mixture still it’s not done.

Prepare Vanilla Drizzle Icing by mixing (whisking) all ingredients together in a bowl. If you’re icing is to thick just add a little milk. When the pudding is done, remove it from the oven and pour icing over entire dish before it cools. Allow icing to melt as pudding cools. Serve and Enjoy!
